Lil Wayne Leads BET Hip Hop Nominations

Hi guys, you're watching ClevverMusic, I'm your host Bridget Daly. Well Lil Wayne is having quite the week, people. Not only did his Tha Carter 4 sell almost a million copies in its first week, but he's racked up a record 18 nominations for the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. I mean, he's seriously nominated in pretty much every category—we're talking best hip hop video, best live performer, lyricist of the year, track of the year, the list goes on and on. Weezy has the combined total of nods that Kanye and Wiz Khalifa got each, and they're tied for second place. The only female on the list is Nicki Minaj, who is nominated for CD of the Year, Made You Look Award, Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, and the People's Champ Award. Justin Timberlake Coming Back to Music?

Justin timberlake talks music again! Hi guys, Bridget here for clevverMusic. Well it seems everyone and their mother wants JT to stop with the thespian stuff and get back to making music. In fact there's even a hilarious PSA out right now in which comedians beg for his return. Well now Justin is kinda sorta opening up in a new interview with Shortlist magazine where he even says that had he not booked a few movies back to back, he would have been coming out with an album right about now!! Justin goes on to call music his 'bread and butter, explaining that he's always considered himself a musician. He told the mag, "people think, 'Oh, he's trying to make a statement by having an acting career.' But it's not like that for me. I don't ever want to stop doing music." Well that's good news! As for the music he likes to put out, JT said, "I do pop music. I'm not saving the world. It's making people forget about their worries, so I've always seen myself as an entertainer. I don't take myself too seriously, so I don't know how I can ask anyone else to." We hope this means he's at least contemplating coming back to it sometime soon. I mean, we've been waiting 5 years. X Factor Promo Shows Off Horrible Contestants

Hi guys, I'm Bridget Daly and you're watching ClevverMusic. Well the new X Factor promo has been released, and it looks worse than Idol when it comes to some of the contestants. The one-minute spot shows off numerous hopefuls singing in front of the judges who do not look impressed whatsoever. At one point, Nicole Scherzinger even says, I'm scared. Simon seems to be back to his old antics with his line, What the bloody hell was that. And then we see the actual contestants freaking out backstage. One guys flips out like crazy and looks like he's scaring the production team. But at the very very end, they squeeze in some positive moments, and you see the judges even giving someone a standing ovation. This should make for a crazy season, and we cant wait to start tuning in! Pia Toscano: Simon Cowell Doesn't Like Me

Hi Idol fans, I'm Bridget Daly for ClevverMusic. Well Pia Toscano is opening up in a new interview about how American Idol has changed her life. Pretty amazing that even despite being kicked off so early on, she was able to sign to Interscope and is now working on her debut album! But during her chat with AOL music, Pia admits she auditioned for Idol 4 times prior to finally making it through and onto the show, and almost didn't go to the auditions for season 10. Her dad was the one who made her go through with it, and told her, "OK, Aug. 3 are the auditions. I already took the day off. It's in New Jersey. You have nothing to lose. The panel has changed, Simon is gone and Jimmy Iovine is the mentor." So you're probably wondering why her dad would mention Simon, right? Well according to Pia, he never liked her. She said, Simon Cowell was never a big fan of mine, which is all good. I loved him on the show. I like watching him, but I don't like being judged by him." She went on to say that she loved Randy, J.Lo and Steven Tyler as judges because as artists, they all knew how it felt as contestants to go through rejection. Now as for what's comin up next for Pia, she says she's nine songs deep into her debut album and she should be releasing it sometime this fall if all goes according to plan.
